Over the Memorial Day weekend Plattsburgh FC’s U18 Impact team lead by coach Tim Mulligan competed in the Needham Invitational College Showcase tournament. This tournament is one of the oldest, diverse and respected tournaments in the country for premier and town teams. Team Impact went undefeated in an extremely competitive U19 bracket to advance to the final match against Connecticut Rush Central. Coach Mulligan’s team battled with Owen Mulligan sending a cross to Dominic Falvo who headed the ball past the goalie into the net for the first goal. Within minutes Jack Ferris gave the team some extra insurance scoring on shot from just outside the box. Team Impact was able to deny CT Rush Central from scoring with its defense expertly winning challenges and maintaining possession. With this win, Team Impact was the first Plattsburgh FC team to ever win this prestigious regional tournament, one of the largest on the east coast.
