Coach Profile
Chris Taylor
Born in Liverpool, England, I enjoyed a youth career at numerous professional academies including Liverpool, Tranmere Rovers, Wrexham and Accrington Stanley. I also represented Liverpool Schoolboys during this time. I moved to the US in 2006 working for MLS team New York Red Bulls as a youth coach before taking an opportunity to study at Plattsburgh State University. I enjoyed a successful playing career at Plattsburgh with both individual and team honours, under the tutelage of Chris Waterbury, one of the most successful college coaches in the country. After graduating from Plattsburgh I joined the coaching staff as an assistant coach for two seasons, before moving to Vassar College as an assistant coach. In 2014 I became one of the youngest college head coaches in the country when I took over Clarkson University, leading the program back to the playoffs for the first time 20+ years. in 2018 I was able to return to Plattsburgh State as the Head Coach and have been here ever since. I have immense pride in being able to lead the program at my alma mater. I have worked with PFC on and off since I came to Plattsburgh in 2007 as a student. At this moment I mainly work in an advisory capacity with the club board and the Director of Coaching. This past summer I completed my UEFA A License and have hopes of one day gaining my UEFA Pro License. I received a master’s degree from Ohio University in Coaching Pedagogy with a concentration in soccer. I am also part of the coaching staff for Vermont Green in USL2.
