Coach Profile
Tim Mulligan
I grew up in the North Country in Chazy, NY. Played HS soccer at Chazy and local club Plattsburgh Hotspurs. I began coaching in 1998 as an assistant and later JV Coach for the boys at Chazy while attending college at Plattsburgh State. After being hired as a Mathematics Teacher at Plattsburgh High I coached JV Boys and Co-Coached Varsity Boys before taking over as Head Coach of the PHS Varsity Girls Program in 2007 a position still held today. I Coached the PHS girls to 4 sectional titles and 4 trips to the NYS Regional Finals. I began coaching with Plattsburgh FC in 2005 as an assistant for a U16 Boys team. While coaching in the club I’ve coached U6-U18 both Boys and Girls teams.
I hold a Grassroots Diploma, USSF F Licence, and NYS Coaches Certification. I’ve attended clinics hosted by NYSPHAA, United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA), and USSF. I’ve also worked Summer Soccer camps since 1999.
I enjoy player development at all levels and ages. I know that if players learn how fun the game can be and develop skills and tactics that represent good soccer then competing and winning will happen with time and patience.
I have two children Owen (2005) and Aubree (2008) who both play in the club. Playing youth soccer and enjoying the opportunities within playing for PFC have been such an important part of both of my kids’ lives.
